"Navruz" - spring festival in Registry office of Nizhnekamsk

20 March 2016, Sunday

Annually in Tatarstan Republic is celebrated one of the oldest festivities in human history – Navruz. In translation from Persian language “Navruz” means "new day" – the beginning of the New Year on the solar calendar, which coincides with the spring equinox. Folk holidays and customs unite generations, preserve the history of our ancestors and strengthen in our hearts traditional family  values: hospitality, understanding, virtue.

On 19th March of 2016 in the Wedding Palace on the eve of celebration of Navruz and during the ceremony of marriage registrations  specialists of the Registry office congratulated newlyweds upon the holiday of spring and sun, wished love, prosperity, longevity, and also treated everybody with traditional Chuck-Chuck and katyk in the national cups.

In 2009 UNESCO included this spring festival in the list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity, and in 2010 the UN General Assembly declared 21 March as the International day of Navruz and called on all countries to make efforts to popularize the ancient world of celebration.
