Carnival

Maslenitsa is one of the most fun holidays of the year, which is widely celebrated throughout Russia. It reflects centuries-old traditions, carefully preserved and passed down from generation to generation. Spring begins on Shrovetide, nature awakens under the sun's rays, and the sun spends more and more time in the firmament. Spring, as you know, is associated with the beginning of a new life and the continuation of the family. There is an expression among the people: "Life is like clockwork." It has long been believed in Russia that having a wedding on Shrovetide is a good omen that promises the newlyweds a calm, measured life in love and harmony. Today, on the eve of the end of Shrovetide Week, a thematic marriage registration was held at the Leninogorsk Registry Office. The department staff tried to give the celebration a special flavor: they prepared a photo zone with a Russian samovar, bagels and the main Pancake treat. It is known that pancakes in Russia are a symbol of the sun, strong marriages and healthy children. The registry office specialists offered the newlyweds Semyon and Yulia to treat each other to the main traditional dish of Maslenitsa – pancakes and wished their family life to go "like clockwork", and to the guests – peace and kindness in every family, so that the mountains of ruddy, fragrant pancakes on the table would become a symbol of prosperity and change for the better. In total, six couples were married at the Leninogorsk registry Office on Shrovetide Week.
