The last honoring of family centenarians this year was held in the Kirov registry office of the city of Kazan
In total, in 2022, the registry office department solemnly congratulated 250 couples who celebrated their marriage anniversary. Of this number, 210 couples have overcome the half-century milestone and celebrated a golden wedding, 37 families - diamond anniversaries lived together for 60 years, and three families celebrated 70 years from the date of marriage in the outgoing year - the crown anniversary.
The tradition of honoring married couples who have been married for 50, 60 and 70 years was born in Kazan in 2000 and continues to the present. Every month, in all city departments of the registry office, employees hold celebrations for those Kazan citizens who crossed the threshold of the registry office more than half a century ago and tied their destinies. Such “newlyweds” are given a cash gift and a congratulatory address from the Mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Raisovich Metshin.
