City of «Labor valor»
On February 18, 2020, the final fifty-sixth session of deputies of the Council of Zelenodolsk municipal district was held in Zelenodolsk, with the participation of Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin and Deputy Chairman of the state Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Yuri Kamaltynov. Among the present participants of the session was the head of the registry office of the Executive Committee of Zelenodolsk municipal district Maryam Yakovleva.
Mikhail Afanasiev, Head of the Executive Committee of the Zelenodolsk municipal district, addressed the participants of the session. he spoke about the most significant events, achievements and problems of the Zelenodolsk municipal district in 2019. Special attention was paid to the family and demographic situation of the district and ways to improve it.
Another key point of the session was the appeal of Mikhail Afanasyev to the Executive Committee and the Council of veterans of Zelenodolsk district with a proposal to prepare an application for assigning Zelenodolsk the status of «City of labor valor», rightly noting the significant contribution of Zelenodolsk residents to the Victory over Nazi Germany.
